RECENT PROJECTS

Our latest short film, The One Note Man, stars BAFTA-winning actor Jason Watkins(The Lost Honour Of Christopher Jeffries, Line Of Duty, A Very English Scandal, The Crown) and the voice of Ian McKellen. It is scored by the Academy Award-winning composer Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare In Love, Billy Elliot). The film was shortlisted for the 2024 Academy Awards and BAFTA.

Our award-winning production company has rapidly grown its catalogue of work, producing three short films in its first year. We also have several TV and feature film projects in development.

MEET THE FOUNDERS

Michael Stevenson – Founder of Cusp Films

MICHAEL STEVENSON

FOUNDER/EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

In addition to Executive Producing for Cusp Films, Michael Stevenson is responsible for overseeing the company’s development slate and nurturing our relationships with key talent and collaborators.

Prior to Cusp Films, Michael made several short films that played at festivals worldwide. His first short as a producer,A Thousand Empty Glasses, premiered at the prestigious Palm Springs International ShortFest and was nominated for the Best In Fest Audience Choice Award. 

For Cusp, he produced and executive produced Robin, which won Best Yorkshire Short Film at the Leeds International Film Festival and qualified for BAFTA. He wrote and produced the BIFA-qualified Hidden, a project that created on-set work experience for Young Carers. Recently, Michael produced the Academy Award and BAFTA-shortlisted film The One Note Man, which won 36 awards across the globe, including 20 Best Short Film awards. 

Alongside his work at Cusp Films, Michael is an actor and is best known for his role as series regular Iain Dean in the long-running BBC medical drama Casualty. A role he continues to play. 

Luke Carroll – Founder of Cusp Films

In addition to Executive Producing for Cusp Films, Luke Carroll is responsible for overseeing the company’s development slate and nurturing our relationships with key talent and collaborators.

Prior to Cusp Films, Luke built his career through production, assisting directors and producers on feature films and regularly working alongside high-profile talent.

For Cusp, he produced Robin, which won Best Yorkshire Short Film at the Leeds International Film Festival and qualified for BAFTA. Alongside his work at Cusp Films, Luke is an actor. His latest role is in the soon-to-be-released TV mini-series adaptation of The Count Of Monte Cristo, directed by Billie August.
